Sonoma deputies searching for quick-moving burglar
A burglar alarm sounding before dawn Wednesday at Friedman’s Home Improvement store in Sonoma brought sheriff’s deputies to the site in two minutes but the fast-moving burglar had already run into the neighborhood carrying cordless drills.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Cecile Focha said the alarm went off at 4:09 a.m. at the Broadway store.
Deputies in the area were able to get there quickly and found the burglar gone already, she said. He’d apparently pried open a door to get inside.
Initial information was an adult male was seen leaving the store, a black baseball cap on his head and Dewalt cordless drills in his arms.
Deputies were looking for the man and pulling surveillance video from the store to help with the investigation, Focha said.
