Petaluma man arrested, suspected of DUI after crash

A Petaluma man involved in a car crash was arrested Monday evening on suspicion of driving with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.

Sean Boles, 46, of Petaluma was driving a Ford Ranger pickup eastbound on East Washington Street just after 8 p.m. when he turned north onto Maria Street into the path of a Chevy pickup, according to Petaluma police.

Officers investigating the accident noticed Boles appeared intoxicated, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI after a test showed he had a blood alcohol content of .29 percent, more than three times the legal limit of .08 percent, police said.

The driver and passenger in the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Boles was booked into Sonoma County Jail with a bail of $100,000.
