Wanted man found hours after Sebastopol search

After apparently hiding Monday for hours in a rural Sebastopol neighborhood, a wanted man who’d eluded a police car and foot chase was arrested at about midnight after being spotted in a yard, Sebastopol police said Tuesday.

Anthony Robledo, 35, of Sebastopol was booked into the Sonoma County Jail, suspected of three felony counts including reckless evading, burglary and child endangerment for having his 15-month-old son in his car during the chase.

Sebastopol Sgt. David Ginn said he tried to pull Robledo over about 10 hours earlier, recognizing him as a parolee wanted for a parole violation. A chase ensued and Ginn reported the suspect sped off past a school, ran a stop sign and passed vehicles in the opposite lane at about 65 mph.

The chase ended on West Hills Circle, a dead end. The driver screeched his Mitsubishi Galant to a halt and ran, hopping fences through yards and eventually eluded his searchers.

Back at the man’s car officers found a young child in the back in a car seat.

Robledo’s arrest came after a Pleasant Hill Road resident called 911, saying someone had come into their home and stolen their car keys, Ginn said Tuesday.

A Sebastopol officer spotted Robledo in a nearby yard and officers and sheriff’s deputies converged on the property. He was being held without bail for allegedly violating his parole.
