Road closures planned for Saturday’s Rose Parade

Streets in downtown Santa Rosa could be closed as early as 8 a.m.|

The Luther Burbank Rose Parade will start its annual temporary takeover in downtown Santa Rosa on Saturday, filling streets with rolling floats and displacing regular traffic.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. at Sonoma Avenue and E Street and ends at about noon at a festival at Old Courthouse Square.

From its starting location, the parade will move north on E Street, head left onto Fourth Street and then turn left onto Mendocino Avenue, disbanding on First Street.

Expect those streets to be closed as early as 8 a.m.

Traffic also could be affected around the parade’s two staging areas at Sonoma Avenue and E Street and the Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Building on Maple Avenue.

Motorists should also be aware of the Color Me Rad 5K running event that also is being held Saturday. That event takes place at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds.
