A motorcyclist was injured on Highway 1 on Saturday after apparently losing control of his bike on a turn in the road, authorities said.

The crash occurred on a curvy, uphill portion of the highway between Goat Rock and Willow Creek, Monte Rio Fire Chief Steve Baxman said.

The biker was apparently riding with a group when he crashed at about 3:30 p.m., Baxman said. The man was conscious after the crash but in a lot of pain and was having trouble breathing, he said.

A REACH medical helicopter crew flew the man to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
