One lane of Highway 101 near Healdsburg will be closed nightly for a month for work on a bridge that crosses the Russian River, Caltrans announced Thursday.

The lane closures, which begin Monday night, June 8, will occur on the northbound side of the highway. The northbound onramp from Healdsburg Avenue/Grant Avenue/Old Redwood Highway also will be closed at night for the bridge repair work.

Caltrans is replacing joints on the bridge. Officials are warning residents who live near the construction zone that the work may get noisy because it involves demolition. Motorists also are advised that metal plates will be used to cover areas where work is in progress.

The work schedule is as follows:

Monday through Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Friday night from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m.

Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m.
