A 52 year old Clearlake woman suffered major injuries after she lost control of her car and drove off Highway 29 and down an embankment near Old Lawley Toll Road in Napa County early Sunday morning.

Tracy Odetta Prosser was driving alone just after 2 a.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and drove over the embankment, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said she traveled about 50 feet down the steep embankment before the car she was driving, a 1997 Chrysler Sebring, came to a stop. Officials said she was able to get out of the car, climb back up to the roadway and wave down help.

She was taken to St. Helena Hospital. The CHP described her injuries as major, but no details were given about the nature of her injuries.
