Petaluma police released a photo Tuesday of a young man suspected of robbing a Target store.

The man was captured on surveillance cameras at the Target on Kenilworth Drive on Monday evening. Store security staff spotted the man taking merchandise from the store around 8:50 p.m. and tried to detain him, Petaluma police officials said. However, the man pushed back, trying to punch the store’s loss prevention officers, and ran away, police said.

Police described the man as Latino and about 18 to 20 years old. He is pictured wearing a black and white collared T-shirt and black and white baseball hat.

Anyone with information about the case can call Petaluma Police Officer Jacob Gutierrez at 781-1219.
