Highway 101 lane closures to precede Petaluma offramp’s opening

Prepare for closures near Petaluma starting today as finishing touches are put on a new Highway 101 offramp to Highway 116.|

Starting Saturday, motorists going north on Highway 101 near Petaluma will be able to exit onto Highway 116 on a new offramp, according to Caltrans.

The new exit is about 500 feet beyond the Petaluma River Bridge.

While final touches are completed, the northbound 101 offramp to 116 will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, and from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

One lane of northbound 101 will be closed from Petaluma Boulevard South to Caulfield Lane from 11 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday and from midnight Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.

Motorists are asked to take a detour during the closures using Petaluma Boulevard South or East Washington Street.
