Fatal crash victim was Rohnert Park man, says CHP

The 25-year-old driver lost control of his car on Old Adobe Road and spun into the path of another car on Saturday.|

The CHP identified a man killed Saturday morning in a Petaluma-area crash as Steven Lamont, 25, of Rohnert Park.

Lamont had been driving south at about 10:30 a.m. on Old Adobe Road near Corona Road when he lost control of his Nissan 240SX. His car spun into the opposite lane and was hit by an oncoming Nissan 350Z, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said in a news release. Lamont died after the impact.

CHP officers still are investigating why the man lost control of his car.

The driver of the second car, a 61-year-old Novato woman, suffered minor injuries, Sloat said.
