A young man who said he had a weapon robbed a gas station Sunday night on East Cotati Avenue in Rohnert Park.

Rohnert Park police said Monday that the robbery took place about 10:45 p.m. Sunday at a Shell service station.

A young man in his 20s approached a clerk inside the store and demanded all the money in the cash register. The robber “made reference to a weapon, but no weapon was displayed,” according to a press release.

The clerk handed over the money and the robber fled to a waiting car, a black, four-door sedan that was possibly a Mercedes-Benz.

The robber was dressed in a red Washington Nationals baseball cap, oversized white T-shirt, tan shorts and white socks pulled up to his knees. He appeared to have tattoos covering both forearms.
