A 69-year-old Eureka man died Monday night in a Ukiah crash, according to the CHP.|

A 69-year-old Eureka man died Monday night in a Ukiah crash, according to the CHP.

The man had been driving north on North State Street near Highway 101 when the van ran off the roadway at about 7:20 p.m. The 1996 Ford van went up an embankment and rolled back down, overturning onto one side. It stopped in the northbound lane.

The CHP said alcohol doesn’t appear to be involved. The crash remained under investigation. The driver had been wearing a seat belt, according to the CHP report.

The victim’s name was not released, pending notification of his family.
