Week 2: Readers pick favorite 'Sonoma Summer Sizzle' photo

With a total of 34 votes, readers chose 'Sunset in Paradise,' a photo taken by Suzanne Sanders of Rohnert Park, as their favorite image in the 2nd week of the Press Democrat's 'Sonoma Summer Sizzle' promotion.

Taken with just a cellphone at Paradise Ridge Winery, Sanders was able to capture the dramatic contrast of the winery's sculptures against a brilliant sunset.

'I was walking back to my car when the sun was setting,' Sanders wrote in an email about her winning shot. 'At first, I thought I would walk out behind the sculptures and get a picture. As I got closer the sculptures looked bigger and bigger. It was the perfect moment of art and nature combined. I just got the shot. Nature did the rest."

The 'Sonoma Summer Sizzle' promotion lets you enter your favorite local photos showing Summer in Sonoma County. Each week readers vote on their favorites with the most popular photo published on our website and in the newspaper.
