An woman sustained major injuries Tuesday afternoon when her Toyota Prius veered off Highway 29 in Calistoga and crashed into tree, according to the CHP.

The CHP said it did not know why the unidentified woman drifted off the highway just north of Diamond Mountain Road shortly before 3 p.m., said spokeswoman Anna Paulson.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, Paulson added.

The woman was transported by emergency responders to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa.
