Man wounded in Santa Rosa stabbing

Santa Rosa police were investigating a stabbing Saturday afternoon that sent one man to the hospital, police said.

The stabbing was reported about 1:15 p.m. near Piner Road and the railroad crossing, Sgt. Marcus Sprague said.

A man was taken by ambulance to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center. Sprague said he had a non-life-threatening wound to his upper leg.

Witnesses said he had been fighting with another person who also was stabbed during the altercation, Sprague said. The person was identified but was not located during a search of the area, he said.
