Suspected Santa Rosa stalker arrested after chase

Witnesses said the man threatened to cut his estranged girlfriend’s throat|

A suspected stalker believed to have threatened to cut an estranged girlfriend’s throat was arrested after leading officers on a high-speed chase across Santa Rosa, police said Saturday.

Sean Cronk, 40, led officers from an address in the 1100 block of North Street at speeds of more than 80 mph to the 2600 block of Range Avenue, where he was captured after a brief struggle, Sgt. Summer Black said.

Officers began looking for Cronk at about 11:40 p.m. Friday after the girlfriend’s mother received the threatening messages on her phone, Black said. They responded to the North Street address as Cronk was driving away.

He was believed to have a firearm. Also, Cronk had a $500,000 warrant for his arrest, Black said.

He was arrested a short time later. Cronk was treated at a hospital for minor injuries suffered during his arrest before being booked on charges of reckless driving and felony evading, she said.
