Police in St. Helena and Napa were investigating a series of reports of a man trying to lure teen girls into his vehicle, officials said Friday.

Officers of both agencies have received 11 similar reports between Aug. 26 and Sept. 15. The bulk of the reports were made to St. Helena police, with only two to the Napa Police Department.

While they have only provided a generic description of a Hispanic man, all but one teen has described the vehicle as an older tan, gold or brown sedan. In one case, the vehicle was described as a dark green Toyota single-cab pickup from the mid- to late 1990s.

Police provided a vague description of the man as a clean-shaven Hispanic man in his 30s or 40s with a dark complexion, short dark hair and a skinny to medium build and a slight accent.

Anyone with information about the case can call St. Helena Officers Justin Tharp and Fil Bianco at 967-2850 or Napa Detective Andy Hess at 257-9507.
