Santa Rosa police on Friday searched for dozens of people accused of violating their probation in drunk driving cases, or who failed to show up for court, and arrested seven, according to a news release.

Police are ramping up DUI enforcement by going after people who violate probation or don’t show up for scheduled court dates. In either case, offenders risk getting additional jail time, police said.

“Some think if they just don’t show up for a court hearing, the police won’t have the manpower to come find them,” police said in a statement. “If your violation is a DUI, don’t count on it.”

Additional DUI stings are planned throughout the year.
