Four-car crash closes Lakeville Highway, sends two to hospitals

The roadway was closed for almost two hours Monday.|

Two people were hospitalized Monday after a four-car collision on Lakeville Highway near Sleepy Hollow Dairy.

CHP officers completely stopped traffic along the two-lane road between highways 116 and 37 beginning about 11:30 a.m. while the scene was cleared. Both lanes were reopened at 1:15 p.m., Officer Jon Sloat said.

Few details were available, but what began as a two-car head-on crash between a Ford truck and a Corvette eventually involved four vehicles.?Sloat said the driver of the truck was reported to be driving recklessly and crossing the highway’s double yellow lines just prior to striking the Corvette head-on.

Neither of the injured was identified by CHP.

The driver of the truck was taken by ambulance to Queen of the Valley Hospital, Sloat said. ?He did not know in which vehicle the second injured person was in. That person was taken by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
