A wildfire burned 12 acres outside of St. Helena in Napa Valley on Friday, churning through dry brush amid damp weather and overcast skies.

The fire burned a rural area near Deer Park and Sunnyside roads between the towns of St. Helena and Angwin, Cal Fire said.

No structures were threatened and no evacuations were needed as a result of the 12:05 p.m. blaze, Cal Fire said.

A quick response stopped the fire’s progress, and aerial tankers were able to get a line around the blaze, Cal Fire reported.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
