The driver of a Chrysler sedan that crashed into a pickup in the hills west of Glen Ellen Friday morning fled on foot then jumped into another vehicle that picked him up and left the scene, heading toward the Sonoma Valley, CHP officials said.

Both the gray Chrysler and white pickup ended up off the roadway following the collision just before 6:40 a.m. on Warm Springs Road near its intersection with Bennett Valley Road, according to preliminary reports. The pickup driver was uninjured, the CHP said.

Two airbags were deployed in the abandoned Chrysler.

CHP officials said they had identified a potential driver and were looking for him.
