Petaluma City Schools welcomes new administrators for 2016-17 year

When classes starting Aug. 17, students at three Petaluma schools will be greeted by new assistant principals.|

With a new school year comes new faces. And in Petaluma, four of those will belong to school administrators, whose duties began this summer.

When classes start on Aug. 17, students at Petaluma High, Casa Grande High and Petaluma Junior High will be greeted by new assistant principals.

Giovanni Napoli will be the new assistant principal for Petaluma High. Before that, he worked as a physical education teacher at Casa Grande High, where he was an assistant varsity football coach and an advisor for the school’s National Honor Society. He also worked with the school’s Link Crew team.

At Casa Grande High School, Dan Ostermann will be the new assistant principal, having moved north from Los Angeles. There, he worked as the program director at Sotomayor Learning Academies and as a music teacher and Instructional Leader at eCals PUC schools.

Stephanie Schaeffer will be joining Petaluma Junior High School as its new assistant principal. She previously served as principal of Washington School in Cloverdale, serving grades five to eight.

At the district office, Kim Harper is the new director of educational services. Before joining Petaluma City Schools, she worked two years as director of curriculum and instruction for San Bruno Park School District.
