ANAHEIM - Some Disneyland visitors reported getting stuck on rides during a short power outage that also hit homes and hotels in the Southern California city of Anaheim.

Disney's Suzi Brown confirms that the park's power was knocked out briefly Wednesday night. She told Los Angeles news station KNBC-TV (http://bit.ly/2aQ9CLx) that most rides weren't affected and that employees reset those that were.

Park visitor Jo Beard told the TV station that "everything just went black."

Anaheim Public Utilities says backup generators kicked in at Disneyland after a short time, while 4,400 customers around the park were in the dark for about 40 minutes.

Firefighters received at least five calls about people trapped in hotel elevators during the outage.

The utility's Melissa Seifen says an animal touching a transformer caused it.
