The charge of the “Hamilton” brigade has begun.

Dates have been confirmed for the hotly-anticipated launch of the national tour of “Hamilton,” which kicks off at San Francisco's Orpheum Theatre March 14-Aug. 5, 2017 as part of the SHN Broadway series.

This insanely popular hip-hop homage to the founding fathers has been the hottest ticket on Broadway for what seems like forever.

Created by the endlessly inventive Lin-Manuel Miranda (“In the Heights”), this is the Tony- and Pultizer-winning tale of the making of America and the guts and ambition that drove the founding fathers to shake off the shackles of the path and dream big. Likewise the gutsy Miranda has reinvented the Broadway musical by putting rap and multicultural casting center stage.

An electric hybrid of rap, jazz and blues that has sparked the millennial generation like no other, the musical will anchor the 2016-2017 SHN series. Subscriptions are no longer available but single tickets will go on sale at a later date, which has yet to be determined. A lottery will also be held with $10 tickets. www.shnsf.com
