Five Petaluma businesses received counterfeit $100 bills in recent days, according to police.

The Petaluma Police Department said businesses at two shopping areas, including the Petaluma Village Premium Outlets, began reporting the counterfeit bills Saturday. Additional businesses were identified as victims Tuesday by the bank processing the bills, police said.

The counterfeit bills appear to have similar or sequential serial numbers on them, according to police.

Based on information provided by victims and witnesses, Petaluma police released descriptions of three suspects and a vehicle.

The first suspect was described by police as a 6-foot-tall white man with blond hair, age 20 to 25, weighing 185 to 200 pounds. The second suspect was described as 5-foot-6-inch-tall white woman with long blonde hair in her early 20s, weighing 110 pounds. The third suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall black man in his late 30s with a shaved head, weighing 220 to 245 pounds.

Police described the vehicle, which could be a rental, as a dark gray Dodge Durango with the California license plate number 7KSL003.

Petaluma police asked anyone with information about the cases to call 707-778-4373.
