Motorcyclist injured in east Santa Rosa crash

The early Wednesday collision briefly shut down the intersection at Fourth Street and Farmers Lane.|

A motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday after a crash that blocked Fourth Street and Farmers Lane, emergency officials said.

The rider and a vehicle crashed about 5:30 a.m. in the busy east Santa Rosa intersection. Details about the how the crash occurred weren’t immediately available.

However, the impact apparently split the bike in half, dispatchers said.

The rider was taken by ambulance “code 3” - with lights and sirens - to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with significant injuries.

The road was closed during the investigation but has reopened.
