A Sonoma woman was identified Thursday as the victim of a fatal crash a day earlier just east of the city.

Natalie Enz, 35, died Wednesday in the crash on Napa Road, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Crum said.

Witnesses said Enz was driving at normal speeds about 1 p.m. when she drifted off the shoulder near Arrowhead Mountain Road, east of Highway 12, hit a ditch and launched into the air.

Her car landed and caught fire, and other drivers stopped to try to put it out with fire extinguishers, the CHP said.

It appeared Enz died from impact injuries and not the fire, according to early reports.

CHP Officer Marc Renspurger said Thursday the cause of the crash remained under investigation.
