CarMax opens store in Santa Rosa

CarMax, the nation's largest used car retailer, this week opened its doors in Santa Rosa on Corby Avenue's Auto Row.|

CarMax, the nation's largest used car retailer, this week opened its doors in Santa Rosa on Corby Avenue's Auto Row.

The business at 2783 Corby Ave. employs more than 40 workers and has the capacity to stock about 300 used vehicles.

“We are excited to announce the opening of our newest store here in Santa Rosa and look forward to serving customers with the easy, no-haggle CarMax experience,” Brandon Mullins, the Santa Rosa store's general manager, said in a statement.

Along with Santa Rosa, new CarMax locations have opened in the Bay Area this year in Fremont and Pleasanton.

CarMax is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. The company was founded more than 20 years ago and operates more than 160 stores in 39 states.

CarMax sells a total of about 1 million cars a year in its retail and wholesale auction operations.
