Two Fresno men plead no contest to human trafficking, pimping in Sonoma County

Two Fresno men pleaded no contest Tuesday in Sonoma County court to multiple felony charges, including human trafficking, pimping and carrying a loaded firearm.

Sammy David Estrada, 25, and Carlos Raymond Martinez, 20, were arrested after an investigation into a Dec. 12 hit-and-run in Santa Rosa led detectives to their abandoned car with a loaded handgun inside, according to a news release from the district attorney’s office.

Estrada and Martinez were later located, as were a 22-year-old woman and 15-year-old girl who had been in the car with them.

Detectives discovered Estrada and Martinez were Latin King gang members, and the woman and girl had been engaging in commercial sex acts in Sonoma and other nearby counties with Estrada and Martinez as their pimps, the release said.

Both men also pled no contest to committing the crime for the benefit of a criminal street gang.

At their sentencing hearing March 2, Estrada will be given eight years in prison.

Martinez will get five years, the release said.
