A Ukiah man was arrested for allegedly throwing his wife to the ground and choking her after she refused to stop talking on the telephone.

Kyle Allen Mitts, 26, was booked into the Mendocino County jail Saturday night on suspicion of domestic violence.

According to the victim, she was talking on the phone just before 5 p.m. at a north Ukiah home when Mitts became upset and tried to get her to stop.

When she continued talking, Mitts grabbed her, threw her to the floor and began choking her, the woman told deputies.

The woman said she freed herself but Mitts again assaulted her, grabbing her by the throat and choking her.

After they fell to the ground, the woman was again able to get away and deputies arrived.

Mitts remained Monday in the Mendocino County jail on $25,000 bail.
