American Airlines is adding a second daily flight to Phoenix from Sonoma County in July to meet passenger demand for the service, airport officials announced Thursday.

The flights will depart Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport daily at 6 a.m. and 12:35 p.m. starting July 6.

American debuted service from Sonoma County to Phoenix-Sky Harbor International Airport on Feb. 16.

Several of the flights aboard the Bombardier CRJ-700 jet have sold out, an airport spokeswoman said.

The nonstop flights are operated by SkyWest Airlines as American Eagle.
