Complaints about loud music late Sunday night led to the arrest of a Santa Rosa man found to have a stolen handgun, Santa Rosa police said Monday.

Officers arrested Eloy Solorio-Hernandez, 34, after being called to Apple Valley Lane in west Santa Rosa about 11:25 p.m. about a group of males playing loud music outside, said Sgt. Mike Clark in a press release.

Solorio-Hernandez was sitting in a Chevrolet pickup truck parked in a carport of an apartment complex. Officers ordered him out of the truck and then found a .40-caliber handgun partially underneath a sweatshirt near where the man had been sitting, Clark said.

The gun been stolen in 2003. Spent casings and live ammunition also were found in the truck, according to Clark.

Solorio-Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and possession of a stolen gun, both felonies, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He also was violating his probation, according to Clark.

The man remained in custody Monday morning in the Sonoma County Jail.
