A section of Llano Road closed Thursday morning west of Santa Rosa after a large tree toppled over, striking a car, blocking the road and taking down a power line.

The tree fell about 10 a.m. between Highway 12 and Ludwig Avenue, said CHP Officer Jon Sloat. The trunk and branches blocked both lanes.

It was unclear whether the car was moving when struck by the tree, Sloat said.

Utility workers and a county road crew responded to the downed tree and power line. Sloat estimated the road would remain closed three to five hours.
