Man who jumped from downtown Santa Rosa building dies from injuries

Santa Rosa resident Kristofer Kerns, who jumped from a sixth story window of the Rosenberg Building in downtown Santa Rosa Saturday afternoon, died early the next day from his injuries.

Witnesses saw Kerns, 27, climb out a window and jump. He landed on Mendocino Avenue, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

He died at 12:16 a.m. Sunday, according to the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office.

His mother, Aimee Kerns and father, Steve Kerns, president and founder of Norcal Networks of Santa Rosa, were by his bedside.
