ROHNERT PARK: Greek and Middle Eastern food fest

Get your Greek French fries and falafel, too, at St. George's Greek and Middle Eastern Festival 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 13 and 14, at St. George Orthodox Church.

The festival fuses culture, food and traditions of the Balkan and Middle Eastern countries through traditional dance, music and food. There will also be a hookah lounge and activities for kids.

SANTA ROSA: Hardisty's named Top 10 store

Foodnetwork.com has released its list of the best kitchenware stores from across the U.S., with veteran retailer Hardisty's of Santa Rosa landing in the Top 10.

According to the media outlet, the small, independent cookware shops are “a great source of expanding your arsenal.” Hardisty's has been selling specialty housewares and small, kitchen appliances for 90 years.

Also making the list was Peppercorn in Boulder, Colo.; The Chopping Block in Chicago, Ill.; and Cook's Companion in Brooklyn, N.Y.

PETALUMA: Brews and Bites for Bounty

The fifth annual Brews and Bites for Bounty, a benefit for Petaluma Bounty, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Lagunitas Beer Sanctuary.

Tickets are $20, including music by The Highway Poets, Mexican food from San Francisco's Nopalito, salad, dessert and non-alcoholic beverages. Beer and wine are available for purchase. petalumabounty.org.

Proceeds will support Petaluma Bounty, whose mission is to make healthy food available to all. Lagunitas is at 1280 N. McDowell Blvd.

ST. HELENA: Southern barbecue meets live fire

Guest chef John Currence, a James Beard Foundation award-winner, will bring a taste of summer in Mississippi to the Napa Valley with a live fire dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Longmeadow Ranch's Farmstead restaurant in St. Helena.

The dinner costs $135, including wine, tax and a ticket to the Bluegrass concert following dinner. Tickets to the 8:30 p.m. show only, which features Fruition, are $45 at door. To reserve, go to longmeadowranch.com. 738 Main St.

GEYSERVILLE: Wags, Whiskers and Wine gala

The Sonoma Humane Society will hold a benefit Wags, Whiskers & Wine Gala at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Trentadue Winery. The evening includes a gourmet dinner and dessert, wine and brews, live music and live and silent auction.
