FULL MOON WALK, PICNIC, JUNE 8

Santa Rosa: Join Kevin Munroe on a ?1.5- to -2-mile hike from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Irwin Creek and Lower Stone Farm in the Laguna de Santa Rosa. Bring your own picnic dinner, but hot drinks and dessert provided. $30. Register at lagunafoundation.org.

PUBLIC HIKE, JUNE 10

Santa Rosa: Free 3- to -4-mile moderate hike from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pepperwood Preserve, 2130 Pepperwood Preserve Road. Bring a bag lunch. Donations accepted. Meet at the Dwight Center. Visit pepperwoodpreserve.org to register and for more information.

TALONS AND TRAILS, JUNE 10

Glen Ellen: Meet live raptors up close, learn how body structure and behavior help birds survive in the wild and walk to the Wolf House Ruins where kids play games from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during Family Fun Day at Jack London State Historic Park, 2400 London Ranch Road. BIKE RODEO, JUNE 11

Boyes Hot Springs: The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition’s bicycle skill, rodeo and helmet giveaway, 4 to 7 p.m. during the Springs Festival at Larson Park, ?329 DeChene Ave. The event includes live music from Three on a Match and food vendors. Call 707-545-2041 for information.

BACKPACK HOOD MOUNTAIN, JUNE 10-11

Santa Rosa: Strenuous, overnight 9-mile hike through Hood Mountain Regional Park and Open Space ?Preserve, 1450 Pythian Road, 2 p.m. June 10 and 10 a.m. June 11. Enjoy outdoor meals, star gazing and night hikes. Registration requires, $100 for adult and two children 12 and older, $50 each additional person. FOOT RACE, JUNE 11

Healdsburg: The Healdsburg Kiwanis Club’s Fitch Mountain Footrace starts 8 a.m. in the Healdsburg Plaza. The 3K stays in town and the 10K is on Fitch Mountain along the Russian River. Proceeds benefit scholarships for local high school students. Free for kids 12 and under; $20 for ages 13 to 17; and $40 ages 18 and older.
