Santa Rosa: Escape the summer sun with a 3-mile walk along shady Ducker Creekand Brush Creek trail at the Laguna de Santa Rosa, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Meet in Heron Hall for coffee, tea and light snacks at the Laguna Environmental Center, 900 Sanford Road, then carpool to Santa Rosa and retrun to the Environmental Center and stay for a picnic. $20, pre-registration required. Sonoma: Free Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition family workshop on bicycle safety 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Sonoma Community Center, 276 E. Healdsburg: The annual classic day of fun on the Russian River at Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach on Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., at 13839 Old Redwood Hwy. Santa Rosa: Help remove Star Thistle, an invasive plant that takes over meadows and grasslands, at Spring Lake Regional Park, 393 Violetti Road, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Sunday.
