Historic photos of Sonoma County in 1907
1907 was a year of great change for Sonoma County. Residents were rebuilding and celebrating the fragility of life, after the devastating 1906 earthquake rattled the San Francisco Bay Area.
Santa Rosa was among the hardest-hit towns with more than 100 people killed in a community of roughly 8,700.
Residents throughout the region relaxed by enjoying nature. Our river towns were thriving, with fabulous resorts and campgrounds providing a bit of respite from hustle and bustle of city life. Railroads were the veins of the area pumping supplies and passengers to the Redwoods and beyond.
