Edna Valley, 2014 Central Coast Chardonnay, 13.9%, $15. This is a tasty chardonnay with layered flavors of pineapple, apricot and clove. A steal for the price. Solid.
Swanson Vineyards, 2016 San Benito Pinot Grigio, 13.4%, $21. An impressive pinot grigio with a range of flavors – pear, lemon zest and jasmine. What makes it a standout is its bright acidity and great balance. Lovely.
Miner Family Winery, 2016 Napa Valley Sauvingon Blanc, 13.6%, $22. This is a bright sauvignon blanc with gorgeous stone fruit, melon and mineral. Lively, up front fruit. Finishes crisp. Balanced. Smart.
St. Supery, 2015 Dollar Hide Estate Vineyards, Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc, 13.5%, $35. A striking sauvignon blanc with crisp citrus notes, mineral and a touch of toast. Notes of grapefruit, melon and lime on the palate. Pitch perfect balance. Impressive.
Gary Farrell, 2014 Russian River Valley, Sonoma County, 13.8%, $35. A smart chardonnay with a nice oak treatment. Rich notes of crème brulee and butterscotch are coupled with bright flavors of green apple, lemon and pear. Nice length.
