Ukiah arrest linked to Clearlake shooting

A Clearlake man who was being sought in connection with a fatal shooting in September was arrested Thursday in Ukiah by a sheriff's deputy who was serving an eviction notice, authorities said.

Daniel Miller, 30, had eluded capture on an outstanding warrant stemming from the Sept. 8 slaying of Clearlake resident David Allen Ferrell, 29, who was shot and killed in the aftermath of a fistfight.

Miller was listed in the arrest warrant as an accessory to the homicide.

On Thursday, a Mendocino County sheriff's deputy identified Miller while serving the eviction notice and took him into custody.

Miller, who was booked into the Lake County Jail, is the fifth person arrested in connection with Ferrell's slaying.

Joshua Beavers, 24, of Clearlake, has been charged with murder in the case.
