Weather pessimism
EDITOR: My waterlogged (despite bagging) home-delivery edition of Saturday's paper bore the headline "More rain on the way, but no drought relief." I believe that most residents get it - this is a tough, atypical year. But can we not greet the arrival of storms with a bit of singing in the rain and splashing in puddles? When it clears, we can pray for more or indulge in another rain dance.
The only statement more Debbie Downer than the headline was the quote from the National Weather Service: "We're expecting some unsettled weather over the next week, but nothing we get in the next week makes the (drought) conditions better." Seriously? Something is nothing? No critical thinking class is necessary to see that statement as an absurdity.
