Risking gridlock
EDITOR: Those who call for Supervisor Efren Carrillo's resignation should think twice about what they ask. Will Sonoma County government and 5th District constituents really be better served by a vacancy while the governor dithers in choosing a successor who will be immediately thrust into an intensely political election campaign while getting on the job training?
Instead of potential county gridlock with a series of 2-2 votes, we might be better served by putting away the hatchets, considering some compassion and letting a sober and repentant Carrillo finish out his term and move on.
