LeBaron prints on display

"The Silver Gelatin Print," a new exhibit of black-and-white photographs by John LeBaron, opens with a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Bodega Landmark Studio in the town of Bodega.

LeBaron, 79, grew up in Valley Ford in western Sonoma County, graduating from Tomales High School in 1946 and Santa Rosa Junior College two years later.

He started work at The Press Democrat in 1948 as a copy boy, and when he left 20 years later, he was the newspaper's chief photographer.

LeBaron taught full time in the Santa Rosa Junior College art department for 22 years and retired in 1997. He continues to teach there part time.

The exhibit will continue through Nov. 23 at the Bodega gallery, 17255 Bodega Highway. Hours: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday through Monday. Call 876-3477.
