CHP: 1990s Honda Civic sought in Guerneville hit-and-run crash

Video footage found in an investigation into a Guerneville hit-and-run crash showed the suspect car was a 1993-1995 Honda Civic sedan, the CHP said Tuesday.

The dark-colored car should have damage to its front right section, said CHP Officer Jon Sloat.

Guerneville resident John Leslie Frank, 63, was hit July 11, while walking in a crosswalk across Main Street at Mill Street.

He suffered moderate injuries in the 10 p.m. crash, according to the CHP. But while in the hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said he was in critical condition.

The car was moving eastbound, toward Santa Rosa, on the main route through town.

The driver didn't stop after Frank was knocked to the ground. Witnesses, video and other evidence led to the identification of an older model Honda, said Sloat.

Officers still were trying to learn the identity of the driver and asked the public for help. Sloat said anyone with information could call officers at (707) 588-1400.
