Forestville home destroyed by fire

A Forestville couple lost their Trenton Road home Sunday night to fire.

The fire was reported at 7:34 p.m., and four minutes later arriving Forestville firefighters found flames raging out of the windows.

Forestville, Russian River and Graton firefighters battled the blaze, but fire officials said Monday that the fire was too advanced to save the 1,500-square-foot house and most of its contents.

The residents weren't home when the fire started but arrived to find firefighters arriving.

Investigators were unable to determine what caused the fire because of the extent of the damage, but it was most likely accidental, Forestville firefighter Mike Franceschi said.
