Unfriendly schedule
EDITOR: Its 5:30 a.m. The sun won't be up for an hour. My daughter's alarm just went off. She struggles out of bed to begin her day at El Molino High School. The bus leaves Occidental at 6:27. School starts at 7:35.
Ten hours after her alarm started the day, she is back at home, tired and looking forward to several hours of homework. Being a good, conscientious student, she can't sleep unless it is done properly. Life at 15 should not be this hectic ("Sleepy in school," Sept. 6).
Whoever thought up this schedule should think again. The teenage body and brain is not built for this plan. Our whole family is not built for this plan.
