A sawmill worker died Wednesday afternoon in an accident at the Redwood Empire plant near Cloverdale.
The man's name and age were withheld by authorities Wednesday night.
Dispatchers received a report at 1 p.m. of a person entangled in equipment at the mill, Sheriff's Sgt. Eric Thomson said. The plant is located on McCray Road just north of the city.
Cloverdale firefighters referred inquiries about the death to the Sheriff's Office and Cal/OSHA.
Officials for Redwood Empire's corporate office in San Jose could not be reached for comment Wednesday night.
