A Vallejo man is suspected of being half of a two-man team that barged into a Santa Rosa home about six weeks ago, tied up the residents and ransacked the house, police said.
Santa Rosa detectives traveled to Vallejo on Wednesday where they arrested Tiare Devon Berkley, 34, with a $2 million warrant, Sgt. Eric Goldschlag said.
The March 3 robbery took place at 6:30 p.m. at a Carina Drive home off West Third Street.
Two men carrying a handgun and a machete and wearing ski masks and gloves entered the home. They bound the arms and legs of a 36-year-old resident, beat him and ransacked the home, a process that took several hours, police said.
They attacked and bound a second resident, a 48-year-old man who returned home during the raid, officials said.
The suspects eventually left with cash and the residents freed themselves and went to a neighbor for help, officials said.
Berkley was being held at the Solano County Jail on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment, Goldschlag said. He will be brought to Sonoma County.
