For power agency

EDITOR: I am very happy to see Sonoma Clean Power get viable bids to supply cleaner power to Sonoma County ("Top bidders for power plan revealed," Saturday). This is exactly the kind of program that is needed; a potentially profitable program that benefits businesses and residents and is also great for the environment. Hopefully, it will stimulate job creation in local clean power production. Expect to see PG&E fight to retain its monopoly.

We will have a choice in power suppliers if the city councils vote to join Sonoma Clean Power. This is a win-win option. Our neighbors in Marin County already get to choose between their alternative power supplier, Marin Clean Energy, and PG&E. I want a choice, too. I urge you all to tell our city councils to vote yes to join Sonoma Clean Power.
