It was 99 years ago, incredibly, that professional performers first stopped what they were doing at the Bohemian Grove encampment and put on a variety show in neighboring Monte Rio.
As usual, the Bohemian Club isn't saying who will come out of the Grove for the show on Thursday at Monte Rio's downtown amphitheater.
But there was a heck of a lineup last year. Headlining in '09 were country stars Clint Black and Zac Brown. For the first time ever, the Bohemian Club has put up a website for the charitable production: monterioshow.org.
Last year's show, a great one, brought in $30,000 for St. Catherine's Church, the Monte Rio School Foundation and the Monte Rio Fire Services Foundation.
